Photo of the Day

It’s funny how sometimes climbing is not fun at all. TV and warm couch seems much more appealing then the next pitch. Then you get back home and instead of the TV you reach for a guidebook.

Final days to join the October Print Giveaway

Here we go again. Another month is gone and I hope it was a good one for you. The good news is that with the end of the month your chance to win a free print is getting closer. As always you are most welcomed to participate and if this is your first time details how to register are below.

What else has been happening on the OnTheRope front? I had an exiting time visiting my family in the Czech Republic. Of course I tried to squeeze some climbing in and catch up with some old friends of mine. Together we did a quick trip to Switzerland to check out if the Swiss keep the best chocolate for themselves. To tell the truth I am not sure about the chocolate but it is a shame that they cannot export their mountains or climbing crags instead.

From Europe I headed to New York to attend the Eddie Adams workshop. To say I was blown away is an understatement. I met so many inspiring people and learnt so much that it will take me a while just to digest it all. I will definitely write a separate blog post about it so stay tuned. If you are a photographer though and want to try something exciting give it a go ... you have nothing to loose.

And finally almost straight from the Sydney airport I headed to the Blue Mountains to cover the Australian Climbing Festival. The festival was restarted after long seven years of waiting and the three days were packed with talks, climbing comps, debates and inspiring movies from around the world. There is going to be an article by the masters of words from the Vertical Life magazine. In the meantime a gallery of photos from the festival can be found here.

Do not forget to vote to win a free print

The voting for the October photo duel is closing on Tuesday 4th November and as always I am curious to find out which one of these two black and white shots below is your favorite. The registration is fast and easy. Just click on one of the photos below or follow this link.

Australian Climbing Festival

After long seven years of waiting the Australian climbing festival got restarted and took place in Katoomba last weekend. Three days fully packed with talks, movies, climbing comp and lots of fun on top of that.

Big shouts out to Gemma Woldendorp and Natasha Sebire for organizing the event. I had heaps of fun and everyone I met and talked to seemed to really enjoy it too. So thanks for that!
